Algal bloom monitoring July 16, 2015: Amount of cyanobacteria has increased

Cyanobacteria have been observed in the open sea areas south from Åland and northern Baltic proper. In lakes, amount of cyanobacteria has increased, even though cyanobacteria are still reported less than usually. Cyanobacteria can be toxic and cause irritation of skin and eyes.
