During the spring and summer of 2017 Plan4Blue project organised an expert survey and a workshop. The results were combined to develop draft future images for blue economy sectors in Gulf of Finland and Archipelago Sea areas: energy, maritime, tourism, culture and services for leisure activities as well as blue bioeconomy and subsea resources. Mapping exercise on sea-use for the year 2050 resulted as initial hot spot areas for blue economy.

PLAN4BLUE PROJECT INVITES YOU TO FURTHER DEFINE THE BLUE ECONOMY SCENARIOS IN A WORKSHOP IN TALLINN, ESTONIA 23.–24.1.2018

  • How do different alternative futures impact to blue economy sectors and how sustainability could be reached?
  • What would be the concrete outcomes of four alternative future scenarios? (working titles)
    • Sustainability above all!
    • Growth unlimited
    • Balancing between human interest and use of natural resources
    • Virtual reality

Analysis of these scenarios will lead to the next phase of the project -  that will focus on developing cross-border spatial planning options and approaches. Project activities will inform the official maritime spatial planning processes in Estonia and Finland.

Mark the next Plan4Blue workshop already in your calendars and follow workshop updates (e.g. registration and program) at the project website.
