The Finnish Environment Institute SYKE has started collecting observations of cyanobacteria blooms this week. Only small amounts of cyanobacteria have been observed in lakes and sea areas. Citizens can participate in cyanobacterial monitoring by submitting their own observations via Havaintolähetti mobile phone application or using Järvi-meriwiki internet service (in Finnish or Swedish). SYKE will provide weekly reports of the cyanobacteria bloom situation until the beginning of September.
