Algal bloom monitoring August 21, 2014: Cyanobacterial situation has calmed down in the Finnish Sea areas and lakes

Press release 2014-08-21 at 13:29

Cyanobacterial blooms have broken down in the Finnish open sea areas due to cooler weather and hard wind. Still, some cyanobacterial observations have been reported from the coastal areas. In lakes, there are less observations on cyanobacteria than usually during the late summer period. SYKE asks for observations on bioluminescent dinoflagellate which may occur in shallow coastal areas.
