In lakes, cyanobacteria surface blooms have increased from last week but abundant blooms have only been observed in five observation sites. Cyanobacteria occurrence may increase during the following weeks because rainy weather has increased nutrient load to lakes. In the Finnish coastal Baltic Sea some observations on cyanobacteria have been done, whereas in the open sea areas windy weather has restricted formation of surface blooms.
