The observations of cyanobacteria are sparse in the Finnish Baltic sea areas and lakes. Low amounts of cyanobacteria have been observed in the eastern Gulf of Finland and in the Archipelago Sea. High amounts of cyanobacteria have been observed only in four of the monitored lakes.
