Current assignment

I am a research assistant part of the Maritime Spatial Planning group. I work as a geographic information systems (GIS) expert, specially focusing on human activities at the coast and sea area. I work mainly with ArcGIS and Excel, but I also know basic coding and have novice skills in image processing.

In 2013 I received my degree in Sustainable Development from YH Novia University of Applied Sciences. My degree work was titled GIS Modelling of Underwater Noise and Wakes as Caused by Ships. I started working at the Finnish Environment Institute in 2011.

Current research subjects

  • Human activities and pressures at the Finnish coast and the Baltic Sea.
  • Collection, visualization (map making), integration and other processing of spatial data related to the sea and human activities.

Maps and analyses made by me have been used in for example these publications:

Meren aarteet (in Finnish)

The Gulf of Finland assessment

Kymenlaakso province plan, sea area report (merialueselvitys)
