EMFF funds the project

The project will produce the Finnish Marine portal, a national service linking information and data from various  Finnish marine data providers. It is funded by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund. The aim is to enhance the practical utility of marine data as well as the visibility of Finnish maritime know-how. The emphasis will be on clear and practical presentations developed with visual clarity, ease of access, logical search paths, seamless user interfaces, and user friendly downloading processes.

Itameri.fi portal opens first in Finnish

The Portal will be produced first in Finnish in the end of 2019, and for the information dealing Åland also in Swedish. The English version will be published later. The Portal is developed in close cooperation with the different agencies and user groups: the project started with a mapping of the needs of potential users. The Portal will provide real-time marine data, status reports, maps, info-graphics, materials, including teaching materials, all serving decision-makers, public authorities, businesses, researchers, journalists, teachers and students.
