Cyanobacterial blooms have been exceptionally wide in the Gulf of Finland and in the Southern and East-Southern areas of the Archipelago Sea. Amount of cyanobacteria has increased also in the Western and Southern areas of Åland. In lakes, cyanobacterial blooms have been common especially in the Southern Finland, but observations of cyanobacterial blooms have been reported from the whole Finland, except from Lapland. More in Finnish
