Outline

I am a freshwater ecologist at the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE) with a strong applied focus in my work. I am particularly interested in how to develop accurate and sensitive bioassessment of streams and lake ecosystems.

I am currently working with:

• Developing and improving freshwater status assessment
• Monitoring impacts of diffuse loading on freshwaters (MaaMet-monitoring programme)

• Assessment of small streams (Nationwide maps from Purohelmi-project)
  Modelling and assessment of freshwater biodiversity loss using biological monitoring data (Vesibio-project)
