Duties

I am working as group manager of the interlaboratory comparisons group. My tasks are:

  • be responsible for the group’s activities and administrative duties
  • be responsible for Proftest Syke proficiency testing activities and its development
  • act as expert in the field of quality of the environmental data nationally and internationally
  • participate to acts and development of Syke’s national reference laboratory activities

Background

I have been working in Finnish Environment Institute since 2009. First as senior scientist in the proficiency testing of Syke and in years 2010-2013 as head of unit of reference laboratory unit. I have been working as head of unit of reference laboratory group between 2014 and 2022.

expert duties include act as coordinator in interlaboratory comparisons and proficiency tests. Those ensuring the reliability and comparability of data nationally and internationally. In the past, I have worked in the research and administrative tasks in Finnish Institute of Marine Research nearly for 17 years. research dealt with heavy metals and nutrients in sediment of the Baltic Sea. At the same time, I became familiar with field works and sampling, as well as marine chemistry and hydrology.

Metrology Advisory Board, alternate (2010-2020)
Technical assessor of the Finnish accreditation service (FINAS) in field of inorganic chemistry since 2009 and in organization of proficiency tests 2015-2019.
