SEVIRA-project participated in XXI International Environmental Forum "Baltic Sea Day" in St Petersburg. Dr. Sergey Kondratyev (ILRAS) gave a presentation of the preliminary results of the ENI-CBC -funded SEVIRA-project Round Table of the River Basin Management plans and BSAP. River monitoring, public awareness and modeling studies will be published as a Road Map at the end of the project. The results also serve BSAP in form of new knowledge of monitoring of small rivers of the Gulf of Finland. Model-based forecasts produce information of possible changes in runoff and removal of nutrients from pilot catchments depending on climatic changes and anthropogenic changes in the underlying surface. Public awareness is important in attracting the inhabitants to participate to the solution of BSAP problems for the Gulf of Finland catchment.
