Current tasks

I work as the consortium manager of the Finnish Marine Research Infrastructure FINMARI, which is coordinated by SYKE. My duties are e.g., support to the consortium leader, contractual issues, cooperation with FINMARI partner institutions and stakeholders, and internal and external communication. Background

I have a degree in hydrobiology (PhD 1994) and a title of docent in hydrobiology from 1997.

I also had several expert assignments, e.g., for HELCOM, EEA, Ministry of the Environment, Ministry of Foreign affairs, and the Academy of Finland. Between 2008 and 2020, I worked in Neste Corporation's R&D unit in various positions: I was responsible for cooperation projects related to microalgae cultivation technologies and company scouting (2008-11), I was the head of the Chemical Research Analytics Laboratory (2011-13), responsible for the operation and development of the Neste-wide innovation process (2013-2019), and on the communication of the R&D&I function (2019-2020).
