Framework agreement for project planning and evaluation assignments in the Western Balkans

Project Description

Based on a Framework Agreement with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland (MFA) and separate assignments by the MFA, SYKE has provided project planning, evaluation and monitoring services for the following projects financed by or proposed to the MFA:

  • Education for Sustainable Development in Western Balkans implemented by the Regional Environmental Center (REC);
  • Sustaining Rural Communities and their Traditional Landscapes through Strengthened Environmental Governance in Transboundary Protected Areas of the Dinaric Arc (Environment for People in the Dinaric Arc) implemented by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN);
  • Securing Ecological Coherence in the Dinaric Arc: Toward an Effective Network of Protected Areas (IUCN);
  • Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services for Local Sustainable Development in the Western Balkans (SEE BAP) implemented by the European Centre for Nature Conservation (ECNC);
  • Local Biodiversity Action Planning Network in the Western Balkans (SEE BAP II, ECNC);
  • Preparatory Assistance to Sustainable Development of Dragash, Kosovo, implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP);
  • Conservation of Biodiversity and Sustainable Land Use Management in Dragash, Kosovo, implemented by the UNDP.

Services provided by SYKE

The services have included project identification and formulation, pre-appraisal and mid-term evaluation services as well as monitoring through participating in steering committee meetings, workshops and commenting of materials.
