Swift action needed for managing growing climate risks in Europe

Europe is the world’s fastest-warming continent, but the implementation of EU policies is not keeping up with the increasing climate risks, according to a recent report by the European Environment Agency (EEA). Johan Munck af Rosenschöld, who co-led the assessment work at the Finnish Environment Institute, shares the key findings of the report.

According to the Finnish Environment Institute, the combined greenhouse gas emissions of municipalities in 2022 continued to decline. Since the peak year of 2006, emissions fell by 36 per cent.
