The aim of this project is to develop in collaboration with farmers recycled fertilizers which are efficient, safe to use and meet the needs of end-users. Agricultural residues and other organic residues and waste streams from other sectors are used as raw material. Concentrated, transportable products are processed from biogas digestate and they are tested in field and greenhouse experiments.
The aim is to test at least two recycled fertilizers and ensure that they meet the fertilizer products' criteria on homogenous quality, usability for crops and feasible spreading technologies. Digestate processing is also internationally under development. Testing new processing techniques and instructions for using recycled fertilizers are essential in order to establish operational solutions.
