Ville Korhonen appointed Communication director at Syke

Ville Korhonen has been appointed Communication director at Syke. He joins Syke from his current role as Head of communications at the City of Helsinki Employment Services Enterprise. Korhonen will begin his work at Syke on 1 December 2025.

The new Communication director will be responsible for both internal and external communications, as well as marketing. The role includes overseeing the communications and marketing strategy and its implementation nationally and internationally, managing media relations, and strengthening the Syke brand. Communication director will lead the communications and marketing unit.

Ville Korhonen has over 15 years of experience in communications, leadership, and public affairs. He brings extensive knowledge of public administration. Korhonen has held various leadership roles in communications at the Social Insurance Institution of Finland (Kela), as well as worked as a communications specialist at the University of Helsinki. In addition, he has worked as a journalist at the Finnish Broadcasting Company (Yle).

Throughout his career, Korhonen has focused particularly on strategic communications, science and research communication, and media and stakeholder relations. He also has strong expertise in internal communications and crisis communication. Korhonen holds a Master of Arts degree, with studies in environmental aesthetics and politics, digital communication, and theoretical philosophy.
