Information for those working at Aranda

Occupational safety at the research vessel Aranda

For the sake of the smoothness of the expedition, public safety, and the enjoyment of all who take part in Aranda's voyages, one should familiarize oneself with the Aranda manual and follow the instructions contained therein. The manual is in English and Finnish. In addition, those embarking on an expedition must complete an online course Introduction to Aranda work.

The manual covers the most important aspects of operating and researching a ship, as well as Aranda's technical information. Some of the things mentioned above are:

  • alarms (alarm signals)
  • rescue, rescue suits and vests, and life rafts and MOB boat
  • fire on board
  • medical care and accidents
  • working on board as a researcher and matters to be considered
  • meal times and drinking water
