In a circular economy, natural resources that have been utilised once are kept in use for as long and as efficiently as possible. This reduces negative environmental impacts, creates new business opportunities, and decreases dependence on imported raw materials.
At Syke, we assess the use of natural resources, their environmental impacts, and their connection to the economy. We provide information on material-efficient solutions, safe material cycles, business models, and policies that promote the circular economy. We monitor the progress of the circular economy and evaluate its impacts.
Our research topics include, for example, waste generation, sustainable circular economy for plastics, environmental impacts of production and value chains, hazardous substances, environmentally conscious economic models, and sustainable consumption.
