Research and expertise
Kaisa Västilä works as a Senior Research Scientist at Syke. Her expertise is on flow, sediment transport, nutrient processes and geomorphological development in ditches, streams and rivers, with a particular focus on the physico-chemical impacts of vegetation. She has designed, led, and conducted field, laboratory and modelling investigations in R&D projects on agricultural water management and nature-based solutions for river engineering. She has strong experience in co-developing water management solutions with stakeholders and experts from other fields.
