Research and expertise
I apply environmental and natural resource economics approaches in multidisciplinary projects that support decision-making. In recent years, my work has focused particularly on natural capital and ecosystem accounting. Earlier in my career, I specialized in marine and water management, while my current research examines issues related to biodiversity and ecological restoration. I have contributed to the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) as an author of the Nexus Assessment Report and led the Finnish delegation at the 9th session of the IPBES Plenary.
