Research and expertise
I am a researcher specializing in the life cycle environmental impact assessment and overall sustainability evaluation of biomass management chains, as well as sustainability issues in water services. I serve as the Group Manager of the Sustainability Group and have more than 15 years of research experience at the Finnish Environment Institute (Syke).
My areas of expertise include

- sewage sludge treatment and utilization
- life cycle environmental impact assessment of treatment and processing chains for sewage sludge and other nutrient-rich recycled biomasses
- sustainability issues related to biogas production
- nutrient-rich biomass recycling concepts and
- the overall sustainability of nutrient recycling
