AMPLIFIERS project
The AMPLIFIERS transdisciplinary consortium project aims to strengthen the resilience of northern agriculture. The project focuses on compound weather and climate events that can have devastating impacts, and studies how other non-climatic hazards and conditions can amplify them. AMPLIFIERS combines multiple research disciplines with stakeholder knowledge to improve society's ability to cope with multi-hazard risks. The project will develop a comprehensive assessment framework for multi-hazard risk analysis and identify the most harmful high-impact multi-hazards. AMPLIFIERS will develop novel methods to quantify the likelihood of multi-hazard events and their impacts on agriculture by combining historical time series data with climate and impact modelling. The project will co-develop risk and adaptation stories for creating enhanced and shared risk knowledge with stakeholders and co-produces adaptation pathways to prepare for various multi-hazards under alternative future scenarios.
