Part of the broader Ryhti project
The built environment information system provides controlled access to key data concerning land use planning and buildings, which is needed especially by authorities to support planning and decision-making. Such data includes, for example, building permits and spatial plans. The data serves as a foundation for new services and business.
The built environment information system was implemented as part of the Ministry of the Environment's Ryhti project (2020–2025), which reformed public sector information management concerning the built environment.
The Finnish Environment Institute (Syke) is responsible for the development and maintenance of the system. After the project phase, the development and maintenance of the information system has continued as Syke's permanent work.
