Sustainable hydropower via hybrid cluster operation and hydrological forecasts under uncertainties
Hydropower is a flexible and renewable source of energy, with a
significant role in the energy system in providing regulating and reserve power for the electric power system.
SUHO project takes a systemic view on hydropower, with special focus on its analysis in the grid frequency control, optimization of lake and reservoir regulation and development of hydrological forecasts. We aim to improve and optimize the hydropower system operation under hydrological uncertainty and changing climate conditions, while supporting flood protection and ecological flow requirements. The project aims to enhance the role of hydropower in the sustainable energy solutions of the future.
