Principles of research assessment at Syke
We evaluate research at Syke at the organizational, project, and researcher levels. We are committed to research integrity, open science and research, and responsible research assessment.
Our key principles in research assessment
Research integrity and openness
- We require that both the research being evaluated and the assessment itself adhere to good research practices.
- In assessments, we value the openness and transparency of research and research outputs.
- We actively collaborate with those being evaluated.
- We only evaluate research when necessary.
Transparency, consistency, and equality
- Our assessment criteria are transparent and consistent.
- We follow common rules, practices, and indicators in all assessments.
- We evaluate all researchers and research fields equally, taking into account the specific characteristics of scientific disciplines, and the diversity of research careers and research tasks.
Diversity of research outputs and impacts
- We take into account the diversity of research outputs in our assessments.
- We assess the performance, quality, and societal impact of research.
Qualitative and quantitative assessment
- We assess research outputs and outcomes both qualitatively and quantitatively.
- The peer reviews are also based on qualitative and quantitative evaluation.
- We carefully select peer reviewers and provide them with thorough orientation.
