The bar chart shows the total funding of Syke in 1997-2025. The bars are divided into two parts: direct budget funding and external funding. Syke's total funding has increased throughout the period under review. The total funding in 2025 was 77.3 million euros.
The line chart shows the development of Syke's key competitive research funding from 2015 to 2025. In recent years, there has been an increase especially in EU funding.
The horizontal bar chart shows Syke's income in 2018-2025 by funder. The Ministry of the Environment's funding share is the largest. It increased until 2024. Other key funders include the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Academy of Finland, and the EU.

Publications

The bar chart shows the development of the total number of publications by Syke in the years 2000–2025. The bars are divided into two parts: peer-reviewed scientific publications and other publications. The total number of publications varies between approximately 450 and 750 publications annually. The number of publications was at its highest in 2015, and a slight decrease has been observed since then. In 2025, Syke produced a total of 454 publications. The share of peer-reviewed publications has increased during the period under review.
The bar chart shows the number of publications classified by the Publication Forum in 2021–2025. The largest number of publications are at JUFO levels 1 and 2. The combined share of JUFO 2 and 3 publications has increased, which indicates the strengthening of the quality of Syke's research.
