We publish high-quality publications on the results of our work, approximately 600 titles annually.
We support decision-making with research-based publications
Finnish Environment Institute is committed to producing high-quality publications that reflect the results of our work and promote sustainable development. We publish around 600 titles each year in domestic and international scientific and professional series, guides, reports, journals, and brochures.
Our goal is to support decision-making with research-based publications, such as Syke Policy Brief statements, which provide timely recommendations for decision-makers.
The Syke Reports series publishes studies and reviews that are openly available in the Helda publication archive and the national research database. Our publications are easily accessible, and about 90% of our scientific articles are openly available.

Ecological restoration is an investment for the future
Ecological restoration can advance the recovery of Finnish nature. The targets and measures for restoring different ecosystems are agreed upon in the national restoration plan. To succeed, the plan requires effective policy instruments as well as assessments that span across ecosystems. When carefully implemented, restoration strengthens not only the ecosystems, but also the regional economy and human wellbeing.
