We process your personal data as it is necessary for the performance of a task (scientific research) carried out in the public interest (Article 6 section 1 (e) of the General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection Act (1050/2018) section 4 subsection 2 point 3).

Collected and processed personal data and the purpose for processing

The background information collected by the survey is age, gender, municipality of residence, highest level of education and current occupational status. We collect and process personal data in order to determine the demand, location and value of marine ecosystem services, such as the recreational use of nature and economic activity. The results of the survey will be used in the work of SYKE’s MeriTV project, and the compiled results will be published as part of the project's final report. The location information of valuable places collected in the map survey is used as part of the report's maps, which describe marine areas valuable in terms of ecosystem services. The results of the survey can also be used and published in international and domestic scientific and professional publications. We collect, analyze and store data confidentially and anonymously. We strive to ensure that it is not possible to identify an individual respondent from the results of the survey.

Collected personal data will not be used for automatic decision making nor profiling.
