Research Vessel Aranda

Aranda is a modern, ice-reinforced research vessel. She was planned and built for Baltic Sea research, but she is able to operate in all seas. Aranda's administration is done by the Finnish Environment Institute SYKE.

Aranda’s monitoring cruise: Record high temperatures in some areas in the Baltic Sea, increasing phosphorus concentrations in the Archipelago Sea and the Bothnian Sea 2021-03-04
Water temperatures in the Baltic Sea are increasing and the deep-water temperatures are record-high in some areas. Phosphorus concentrations are rising in the central part of the Archipelago Sea and the Bothnian Sea. The observations were made during the annual winter monitoring cruise in January which is part of the Monitoring Programme of the Finnish marine management plan.
