In lakes, cyanobacterial situation is typical for this time of the year as cyanobacteria were visibly present in 37 of the national observation sites. Most of the cyanobacterial observations concerned only small amounts of cyanobacteria. In the Finnish open sea areas, cyanobacterial blooms have not been observed. In the coastal areas, there have been some cyanobacterial observations, but high amount of cyanobacteria was observed only in one official site in the Archipelago Sea.
