Privacy notice on processing of personal data in the Baltic Sea Science Congress 2023

This notice contains the information specified in Article 13 and 14 of the General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679) of the European Parliament and of the Council. This notice explains, among other things, how the Finnish Environment Institute (Syke) collects, uses, discloses and stores the personal data of people who register to Baltic Sea Science Congress 2023 (BSSG2023)

Legal basis for data processing

The processing of personal data is based on the data subject’s consent (Article 6 section 1 (e) of the General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection Act (1050/2018).

Personal data collected

We will collect the following personal data: name, email address, phone number, organization and title. Special diet information for the needs of planning catering services. This data is collected for Congress registration (in the Lyyti system) and for abstract submission (Ex Ordo system).

Collected personal data will not be used for automatic decision making nor profiling.

Recipients of personal data

The personal data collected for BSSC2023 will be used only by the organizers or scientific committee (incl. only the information relevant for the committee).

Protection of personal data

The personal data is stored for the required amount of time needed for the purposes of BSSC2023 described in this notice.

All information collected in this survey is stored and controlled by the Finnish Environment Institute. The information is only used for communications regarding this project. Personal information is stored for a year.

Storing of personal data

Personal data will be stored in electronic form for the time necessary for Finnish Environment Institute to fulfil the purposes of processing described in this notice.
